Sophia Dalton Hitter of the Week: Alec Bohm, Philadelphia Phillies
Stats: 7 G, 17-for-30, 8 2B, HR, 8 RBI, 6 R
After posting a 109 OPS+ with 31 doubles, 20 home runs and 97 RBI in 145 games, Alec Bohm has taken his game to another level in 2024 with one of the hottest starts of any hitter in baseball. Following his strong showing last week, he is now hitting .365/.441/.615 with 12 doubles, four home runs and 26 RBI in 29 games.
Pitcher of the Week: Max Fried, Atlanta Braves
Stats: 1 GS, W, SHO, 9.0 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K
Max Fried got off to a rocky start in a contract year, posting a 7.71 ERA in 16.1 innings over his first four starts, but he looked the part of an ace on Tuesday with a three-hit shutout against the Miami Marlins. It was his fourth career shutout in 127 starts and could be the turning point in his season.
Rookie of the Week: Andy Pages, Los Angeles Dodgers
Stats: 6 G, 9-for-25, 2 2B, HR, 2 RBI, 5 R
Pages had a 31-homer season in 2021 and 26-homer season in 2022 while rising the ranks in the Dodgers farm system, and after an injury-plagued campaign last year he is getting his first shot in the majors. The 23-year-old hit .371/.452/.694 with five home runs and 15 RBI in 15 games at Triple-A before he was promoted, and he has taken over an everyday role in the Dodgers outfield.
