Najee Harris is considered one of the top running backs in the nation.

He played his high school football at Antioch High School in California. As a senior, he ran for 2,782 yards and 36 touchdowns. 

He was also named the Gatorade National Player of the Year. Harris committed to playing college football at the University of Alabama.

As a freshman, he played in 13 games and ran for 783 yards and eight touchdowns. He had a breakout season as a sophomore, running for 1,224 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Harris is considered one of the top prospects for the 2021 NFL Draft.

He will turn 24 years old in October of that year. Harris was born and raised in Antioch, California, and played football for the University of Alabama.

Early Life

Najee Harris was born on August 2, 1998, in Antioch, California. His mother, Tianna Hicks, was just 18 years old when she had him. 

His father was not present in his life. As a result, Harris was raised by his grandparents, Ellen and Willie Hicks. Despite the challenges of growing up without a father figure, Harris had a happy childhood.

He developed a love for football at an early age and credits his grandfather for teaching him the importance of hard work and determination. 

Today, Harris is widely considered to be one of the best running backs in the country. He is currently playing for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide football team.

In 2017, he was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Year. He is expected to be a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Najee Harris struggled against the Dolphins in Week 7, only managing 65 yards on 17 carries and 15 additional yards from three catches.

This is the sixth time in seven games that he has been held under 4.0 yards per carry. 

The 2021 first-round pick simply hasn’t performed up to expectations this year, with only three total touchdowns (one rushing).

However, he does continue to see the majority of backfield touches over Jaylen Warren. In Week 8, he will be an RB3 in a difficult matchup against the Eagles.

Najee Harris will look to bounce back in Week 8 against the Eagles after a disappointing performance in Week 7 against the Dolphins.
