Ava Arnold After fans had been anticipating the arrival of Queer Eye season 8 for some time, six all-new episodes of the show dropped on the streaming service on January 24. The Fab Five are working their magic on six new Heroes including Alison McCrary during The Flying Nun episode.
Not only does Queer Eye season 8 bring a bittersweet feeling for some fans who are sad to see Bobby Berk leave the Netflix show, but the Heroes appearing in the episodes are setting off the waterworks big time. Queer Eye season 8 episode 5 introduces fans to Alison who dedicates her life to social justice reform.
Queer Eye season 8’s Alison
The Fab Five head to New Orleans, Louisiana for another time in season 8.
Here, they’re introduced to Alison, a social justice lawyer and social movement strategist.
As Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Jonathan Van Ness, and co get to know Alison, they get the feeling she’s “type A” after taking one glance at her home filled with labels.
Alison spent most of her twenties and thirties as a Catholic nun before leaving the church at the age of 38.

Hero still making social justice moves
Although the Fab Five had aims of former nun Alison finding herself a “hun,” it appears she’s still very much focused on her social justice work.
The Netflix star took to Instagram on January 31 to share an urgent appeal to do with her work ministering on Louisiana’s Death Row at Angola Prison.
Commenting on her post, many of her fans call Alison an “inspiration,” with more writing: “…your work is so important…”

Alison thanks ‘unsung heroes’
Queer Eye’s Alison is regarded a Hero on and off the Netflix series.
But, aside from herself, she takes a moment following her episode airing to thank people who fans are calling the show’s “unsung heroes.”
As well as Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk, and the rest of the Fab Five, there are more people vital to making Queer Eye work.
Alison thanked the producers, assistants to producers, her “talent coordinator, driver, and snack provider,” and “the dozens of others who made Queer eye season 8 possible!”
She wrote in her Instagram post: “You worked tirelessly night and day for months with little sleep and little time to eat. You pivoted graciously when twists and turns came our way. Thank you all for being such phenomenal storytellers with big hearts!”
A fan commented on the post: “Thanks for uplifting all the work behind the scenes – the unsung heroes of media making!”
