NFL HC Ranks Jayden Daniels Over Caleb Williams Before 2024 Draft: 'No-Brainer to Me' | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors
Jessica Wood Others, like one NFL head coach, think he's far and away the best quarterback in this class.
"It's a no-brainer to me," the coach told ESPN's Adam Schefter. "Jayden looks like the best guy in this draft."
The coach said he would take Daniels over Williams if he had the No. 1 overall pick. Williams has been the overwhelming favorite to go No. 1 for more than a year, often garnering comparisons to reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes.
Daniels is the favorite to be taken second overall by the Washington Commanders, though there has been buzz about the LSU product preferring a different destination. The Heisman winner reportedly "would have liked more face time with Commanders officials" during his visit earlier this month. Rather than meeting individually, Daniels was one of a number of prospects who the Commanders brought in.
The B/R Scouting Department is more skeptical on Daniels than the aforementioned coach, ranking him as the No. 31 prospect in the 2023 class. By contrast, Maye comes in at No. 3 overall and Williams at No. 4.
