The Las Vegas Raiders and defensive tackle Christian Wilkins agreed to a four-year, $110 million contract on Monday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Wilkins played the 2023 campaign on his $10.7 million fifth-year option, but rumors emerged ahead of the season that the Miami Dolphins were hoping to lock him up to a long-term extension.

That didn't happen, and Wilkins only increased his earning potential on the open market, registering 65 tackles (10 for loss), nine sacks, 23 quarterback hits, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble.

His sacks, quarterback hits and fumble recoveries were all career highs.

Wilkins wasn't one of the defensive tackles drafted in 2019 who signed a major extension ahead of the 2023 campaign, watching as Quinnen Williams (four years, $96 million), Jeffery Simmons (four years, $94 million) and Dexter Lawrence (four years, $90 million) all inked lucrative deals.

That set the market for a player like Wilkins, and he certainly played like he was on a similar level last season.

But the Dolphins were never able to find an extension that worked for both them and Wilkins, they abstained from using the franchise tag and Las Vegas swooped in, willing to bet that the veteran defensive tackle would be able to take his game to even greater heights.
