Amanda Lemos is a Brazilian mixed martial artist who is currently in the UFC’s strawweight division. After her debut on July 17, 2014, Lemos had appeared in the octagon 15 times, out of which she lost twice, drew once, and sealed the victory 12 times with a UFC takedown accuracy of 57%.

In her last bout, Lemos took down American fighter Michelle Waterson with a guillotine choke. Though Lemos lost to Jessica Andrade, it seems the Brazilian fighter is currently in good shape to be the title challenger.

The 35-year-old Brazilian mixed martial artist is set to compete at UFC Apex on November 6, 2022, against Marina Rodriguez, with being the UFC betting favorite.

Brazilian mixed martial artist Marina Rodriguez competes in the strawweight division of the UFC at the moment. Rodriguez made her professional MMA debut on March 28, 2015. Since then, she has participated in 19 fights, winning 16 of them while only losing once and drawing two others.

In a recent interview with the media, Rodriguez expressed her utter displeasure for the impending fight with Lemos, feeling that it is unnecessary given that she needs the chance to challenge for the strawweight title.

“To be honest, this fight doesn’t make a lot of sense when you look at the UFC rankings, but as a UFC employee, I know that I’ve got to accept other fights to be able to fight for the title.”

After hearing the comment, Amanda Lemos ferociously replied that Rodriguez had the opportunity to turn down the fight but didn’t, but Lemos considered the clash as a big opportunity as she could prove herself more by winning this bout.

“If it doesn’t make sense for her, she shouldn’t have taken this fight. She turned down a fight previously, a fight that would have been crucial for her to go to the belt, and she turned it down. That’s on her; I have nothing to do with that. People saying (the upcoming bout) doesn’t make sense; nobody forced her to take the fight. I’m a professional, and I’m here.”
