Personal Statement

Athletics have always been an important part of my life, from being a dancer for a decade and running cross country for the past 4 years I’ve learned the importance of hard work, determination, and how to train my body to perform. However, it is softball that has taught me the most valuable lessons. Many times softball has shown me what true failure is, that feeling of disappointing yourself and your team knowing they were counting on you, while it has also allowed me to see some of my highest highs, helping me create many memories. But most importantly, I’ve learned that it’s not always about the highs and the lows, it’s about the growth and courage it takes to get from one to the other, it’s about having more mental strength than physical, it’s about continuing to go on when you don’t know what will happen next. What I do know is that no matter what situation I’m thrown in, I am committed to doing my best and showing the bravery it takes to be a strong athlete.
