The Golden Glove is awarded to the goalkeeper that keeps the highest number of clean sheets during the Premier League season 

The roll call of recent winners reads like a Who’s Who of No 1s, with Ederson, Alisson, Pepe Reina and David De Gea all multiple winners on a list headed by Petr Cech and Joe Hart with four wins apiece.

Golden Glove – 2023/24

bet365’s Golden Glove odds market closes when the opening game of the Premier League season – Burnley vs Manchester City – kicks off at 8pm on Friday 11 August. 

For your bet to be paid out, the goalkeeper you have backed must win the award by keeping the most clean sheets come the end of the season. There is no each-way betting available on this market – just the outright winner.

Where could the value lie in this market? 

With last year’s Golden Glove winner David De Gea unlikely to be playing in the Premier League in 2023-24 following his departure from Manchester United, you could find some real value in this market.

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson is the favourite at evens and the 29-year-old did win or share the award in three consecutive seasons before the most recent campaign. 

However, despite City’s dominance in the top flight, the Brazilian had only 11 clean sheets last season with Alisson, Nick Pope, Aaron Ramsdale and David Raya all keeping more.

His Brazilian team-mate Alisson is next in the betting at 9/4 but Liverpool’s defence was exposed last season and they have not yet strengthened it in the transfer window.

For some real value, Nick Pope at 12/1 could be a great option. The Englishman finished joint-second in the clean sheet charts last season on 14, along with Alisson and Aaron Ramsdale. Newcastle also had the joint-best defensive record in the division along with City, shipping just 33 goals.

Ramsdale is the same price but Arsenal conceded 10 more goals than Newcastle and City last season while he also made two errors that led directly to goals. Only two goalkeepers made more last term.

Another interesting value option is Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is 20/1 to win the Golden Glove. The Spaniard kept just nine top-flight clean sheets last term but he only played 31 games as he shared the role with Eduoard Mendy who has since moved to Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia.

Chelsea will be a different proposition this season under Mauricio Pochettino, who will be hoping to turn the Blues into a strong defensive side just as he did during his time at Tottenham Hotspur.
