Prince Harry has sided with his father, King Charles III, by saying that he won't wear his military uniform without permission, despite his wife Meghan Markle wanting to see him suited up.

At the Invictus Games, and for Charles III's coronation, Prince Harry has been unable to wear his military uniforms whilst the other princes of the family have been allowed to do so.

Prince Harry, who served in active combat in the war in Afghanistan, requires the King's permission to wear his uniform. That's despite the public criticising the decision, particularly as the disgraced Prince Andrew is allowed to wear his military medals.

Prince Harry and the uniform issue

At the Invictus Games, specifically for veterans and service people, Prince Harry addressed the issue and sided with his father on the matter.

"A week ago, I stood here and told you about the significance of being able to wear your nation's flag again," he said.

"So many of you have told me that it hit you right here.

"For many of you, the uniform that you've been wearing this past week will give you a new story to tell. And for others, it may give your old uniform new meaning.

"But, I'm here to remind you that, after all of this, you don't need to rely on a uniform, nor should you ever feel lost without one.

"Why? Because everything you need is already within you."

Prince Harry disagrees with Meghan Markle

The statement indicates Prince Harry's agreement with his father, the King, and means he didn't side with the thoughts of Meghan Markle, his wife.

According to Neil Sean, a Royal Family expert, the Dutchess of Sussex wanted him to wear his uniform and medals, believing that he looks handsome in them and deserves to show them off.

But, he would not risk angering his father, who is now head of the family after the death of Queen Elizabeth II - a family that the Prince is already cut adrift from.

"Meghan Markle, believes he should just wear it anyway," Sean said.

"She said he looks handsome in it, and he's earned the right to continue to wear it as and when he wants.

"But, you see, even right now, at the ripe old age of 39, Prince Harry seemingly does not want to offend or indeed upset the king anymore."
