Shazier Has Struggled With Injury at Pro Level
Injuries keep following Shazier in his professional career. After a quick start to his 2015 season, he experienced some shoulder problems after the Steelers' Week 2 win against the San Francisco 49ers and did not return until Week 7.
This is nothing new for him as his 2014 rookie season was cut short by seven games after he picked up injuries to his ankle and knee.
Shazier has shown throughout his limited time on the field that he is capable of becoming an exceptional linebacker. With a great ability to shed blockers and penetrate the backfield while possessing the speed to run down even the best runners, Shazier is one of the brightest talents on the Steelers defense.
Luckily for Pittsburgh, it has depth at the linebacker position. With James Harrison, Jarvis Jones and Lawrence Timmons, the Steelers have the experience to read offensive schemes but will be able to rely on the speed that Shazier brings.
Pittsburgh needs all the talent it can get on that side of the ball though, as it entered Week 12 with the No. 20 defense in the league.
