In 1971 George Jones and Tammy Wynette decided to record a duet version of the song “Take Me” for their first album. This was their only song in their album to enter the Billboard chart. The song, “Take Me” peaked at No. 9 on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in 1972.
