As you might know, the internet is expanding the kinds of “generic top-level domains,” or gTLDs, (like .com or .net) to include many more like .fashion, .irish, and, yes, .porn and .adult. So, in a “sunrise period,” the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers is allowing large corporations and famous people to get first dibs on such “controversial” gTLDs before the free-for-all begins on June 1. According to CNNMoney, Taylor Swift’s management has bought TaylorSwift.porn and TaylorSwift.adult so that some dude with a computer can’t sully her name. Nice try, pervs.
