Not everyone is the "get up and go, let's have fun with friends" type. In fact, these days, people are more inclined to stay home and stare at a screen rather than hang with friends. It's one of those things that we're taught is a good thing: Be social, make friends, go out and experience life!

Life is a participation sport! The truth is, that's all true and great, until we become outcasts for not wanting to be as social as is expected of us. Then we get stamped anti-social — as if that's a bad thing! But for the anti-social zodiac signs in astrology, it's all too real.

Just the term anti-social seems to come with a picture of a sad sort, maybe a person who is hateful or scornful of the human race: a misanthrope. We've also come to think of anti-social as a mental condition, usually coupled by anxiety or depression.

The person who can't bear the sun, has panic attacks on street corners, keeps voodoo dolls of everyone they know — these are stereotypes. Being on one's own is fine, and as we all know, sometimes we just don't feel like being social. Maybe many times.

And then there are those who are completely social. They are ready, able and willing to interact and have experiences with others. Still, in all, those who prefer the anti-social life can be summed up in the tag team of these zodiac signs.

1. AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)

That Aquarius is so anti-social should give us pause for gratitude, as it's best to avoid contact with this sign of the zodiac in social circles.

So, it's a good thing they don't want to go out and "do things" because if they encountered you, they'd more than likely end up stabbing you in the back or doing something that would make you wish they never left their house that day.

2. PISCES (February 19 - March 10)

Ah, the true anti-social archetype. Anti-social because of social anxiety. In essence, they're afraid. Of everything. Where it might seem the opposite for a sign whose name evokes "school" mentality, where all the fish stay together, in formation, in human life it is not the same.

Pisces does crave interaction with others, but those others must be identical to them. Anybody else seems a threat to them, so they stick to themselves in an anti-social bubble of fear.

3. GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)

Getting Gemini out of the house is a great idea... if you're into waiting the full duration of their thinking the idea out. Then, it may discourage you to know that they will not accompany you after all.

While they're not into bailing on anyone, their preference will always be to stay alone, at home, watching TV where they are truly happy.

4. CANCER (June 21 - July 22)

Good ol "stay at home" Cancer. Let's put two and two together here, folks. The sign that is associate with home, hibernation, hoarding, and, um... staying at HOME is, shall we say, anti-social?

Yes, Cancer takes the cake and eats it all by herself, in her room, happily away from the drama she just escaped out there in the cold, cruel world. You go, Cancer!

5. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)

Virgo's got one thing on their mind: Get up, go to work, get home, get comfy. It's not a big deal.

They have the same glamorous idea of what being social should be like, but when push comes to shove, they'd really just rather hang out with Gemini and get some quality binging in. And preferably, the Gemini involved is a dog.

6. LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)

This is the upper echelon of anti-social, where only the Anti-Social Royalty live, privately, because God knows they aren't leaving the sweet, sweet privacy of their own quarters.

Libra cannot be bothered to do much more than what they require in order to live, and honestly, being social isn't one of those things. Libra passes on your invitation, but they will be polite enough to send an RSVP telling you so.
