To open Nornir rune chest in The Strond in God of War Ragnarok, the solution is to break the three rune stones. However, you’ll notice that they look different, kinda like totems. If you try and hit them with your ax or any other weapon, the game will basically tell you to leave them alone. So, what are you supposed to do? The answer to that is – keep playing the game. Now, I’m going to try and keep this as spoiler-free as possible, so I can’t go into too many details. Suffice it to say that you’ll eventually get a spear as your tertiary weapon. Tat is the only thing that can break these totems. So, you’ll have to go back once you have the new weapon.

The one that’s closest to the chest is on the wall to the right. From there, keep turning right until you see the gnarled tree on the opposite side. You’ll see the totem nestled to the right of the tree. Lastly, head to the big door to the southwest. As soon as you step onto the “bridge,” look to your right. You’ll see the third totem on a ledge across the chasm. After you’ve broken all three, double back to the chest and collect your reward.
