Top 10 Giants Running Backs | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors
Jessica Wood Tiki had 2 careers in one. After the Kieth Elias experiment failed, Tiki was drafted in the 5th round out of Virginia in 1997 to be the 3rd down back and punt/ko returner for the Giants. This is the primary role he had for his first 3 years until 2000. In 2000, the Giants drafted Heisman Trophy winner Ron Dayne to be the primary back. This was going to be the "Thunder (Dayne) & Lightning (Barber)" for the seasons to come. Tiki as the Lightning ran for over 1,000 yards that year, helping the Giants reach their 3rd Super Bowl. This began his "second career" as the Giants primary back until his unexpected retirement after the 2006 season. During that time, he broke all Giants rushing records for attempts, yards, & tds.
