BIOGRAPHY OF TUPPENCE MIDDLETON

Tuppence Middleton is a television and film actress from England who is known for her roles in films like Jupiter Ascending (2015), The Lady Vanishes (2013), Tormented (2009) and Imitation Game (2014) as well as TV series like Black Mirror (2013), Electric Dreams (2017) and Sinbad (2012).

Other films Middleton has appeared in include: Chatroom (2010), Cleanskin (2012), Trance (2013) while the TV series also includes Bones (2008), New Tricks (2010), Friday Night Dinner (2011), Spies of Warsaw (2013) and Sense8 on Netflix in which she has played the character of Riley Blue since 2015.

In an interview, she once revealed that her name Tuppence came from her grandmother who nicknamed her mother that. She then decided to name her daughter Tuppence and that their brother would be called Bubba or Sonny until Tuppence and Angel called him Josh. Josh Middleton is the frontman of heavy metal band Sylosis and the lead guitarist of Architects.

From her early days at school, Tuppence had participated in plays, notably in Guys and Dolls in a lead role. After attending Bristol Grammar School, she went to Stagecoach, a performing arts school in Portishead. At Arts Educational School in Chiswick, London, Middleton studied acting and graduated with an honors degree in theatre.

Her first major role was in the 2009 horror/comedy Tormented as head girl Justine Fielding. Fielding is dating one of the most popular boys in school, but later discovers that he and his friends were responsible for the death of a classmate.

She had a role in the sitcom Friday Night Dinner in 2011 as Tanya Greene and in Sirens as Sarah. In the 2012 terrorist/spy thriller film “Cleanskin,” Middleton appeared in the lead role of Kate.

In 2013, she joined acting as she appeared in the play “The Living Room” in March 2013. In the psychological thriller Trance, she had a minor role. From 2015 to 2018, Middleton starred in the Netflix series Sense8 as Riley Blue. Her role in War & Peace as Russian aristocrat princess Helene Kuragina, received high praise from film critics. She has been described using words such as vile, delicious, and “the baddest woman on TV right now.”

Middleton was nominated for Most Promising Newcomer in 2010 at the London Evening Standard Film Awards.
