'The Notorious' has sat on the sidelines since his loss to Dustin Poirier in July, frequently taking to Twitter to express his opinions. His opinions aren't always the nicest, and after Ferguson's loss, he had no problem kicking him while he was down.

The 33-year-old pulled out his phone and posted a series of tweets comparing his opponent to a chicken McNugget. The most heinous of these included a photograph of the American's face in the middle of a knockout, which the Dubliner claimed resembled the famous McDonald's treat.

If you pulled that out of a McDonald's bag, you'd dip it in sauce and eat without a moment's thought. No doubt. That would pass as a legit McDonald's chicken nugget. That's Crazy." McGregor had said in a tweet after the brutal Chandler brutally KO'd Ferguson.

Tony had some great nuggets in the media build up. Then he got punt kicked to the chin and got turned into a nugget himself. That's crazy.

McGregor is, of course, using the same insult that Ferguson frequently used against him. "El Cucuy" explained where the idea came from in a 2017 interview with ESPN. The string of tweets has since been deleted.

Some fans find McGregor's remarks amusing, while others believe they are ill-timed. His verbal assault on Ferguson, however, was not the only reason he made the news. Chandler made it clear after the fight that he would welcome a rematch with the former two-division champion.

Furthermore, the world's best lightweight admitted to desiring a piece of McGregor. Charles Oliveira called out Irish sensation Justin Gaethje after his sensational first-round victory.

Despite the fact that the sport's biggest draw has done nothing to earn a title shot, his star power has the potential to make this monster fight a reality.

McGregor also went after Chandler after the fight

After knocking out Tony Ferguson with a brutal front kick, Michael Chandler called McGregor out, and the former two-weight champion accepted. McGregor wrote on social media, "I'd have a nice knock off this guy, no doubt about it."

"A fireworks display. I also like the 170 shout. He was tipped over. At some point in my career, I'm willing to fight this guy. After tonight, I see it happening. Michael, congratulations on another barnstormer win," added the Irishman.

When asked about the possible fight, UFC president Dana White responded: "Conor isn't quite ready yet, but once he is and can train for a fight, we'll discuss it. Who doesn't want Chandler to face off against Conor?"
