Wallace Kirkland Freeman, 57, was called home to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 27, 2018.  He was born on December 26, 1960 in Norfolk, VA to Willie and Mary Freeman.

 He graduated from Louis D. Brandeis High School in New York City.  He was recognized in the 1977-1978 edition of Who’s Who Among American High School Students and received the New York Regent’s Scholarship to City College for medicine.

 Wallace served his country as a Personnel Specialist in the United States Air Force from June 1979 until December 1985.  He was proud to be a veteran and posted many military related pictures, especially jets, on his social media page.  A few of  the many prestigious awards received during his tenure include AF Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon and NCO Professional Military Education Grad Ribbon.

 He was very proud of the nicknames he was given.  To his military comrades, he was known as “Lace”; to many in his family he was affectionately known as “Wa” or “WaWa”.  He never met a stranger and, if he had it, he would go out of his way to give you what you needed.  In fact, he would give you what he wanted you to have even if you didn’t know what it was.  He was the ultimate fisherman and had enough gear to supply Pro Bass Shop, his favorite spot.

 His love of family and friends was unwavering.  Once he realized you were family, he was going to find a way to make a connection.  Never having any children of his own, he was a very proud uncle to all of his nieces and nephews.  He saw them as his kids.

 He was a former member of Rehoboth COGIC, Bronx, NY.  He joined Better Life COGIC in February 2016.  

 Left to cherish his loving memory are his parents, Willie and Mary Freeman; two sisters, Debbie (Willie) Daniels and Sheila (Terry, Sr.) Powers; one brother, Erwin (Sebrena) Freeman of Kennesaw, GA; three nieces, Charisse (Donathan) Spruill, Ciara Freeman and Patrice (Johnathan) Calton; four nephews, Steven Daniels, Terry Powers, Jr., Corey Powers and Brandon Powers; great-nieces, Jordan Daniels, Jaden Daniels and Jerin Daniels; great-nephew, Jaelin Daniels; three aunts, Elnora Brown, Harriet Peterson and Jean (Ernest) Williams; one uncle, Leon (Patricia) Mack; and a host of loving cousins and friends.
