Walt Whitman High School’s Principal confirmed that an Antisemitic email was sent to their school’s staff members. 

A day after the antisemitic graffiti painted across the entrance sign of Walt Whitman High School, the staff members checked their inboxes and found an antisemitic message.

For those who don’t know, Antisemitism means prejudice against the Jewish. The Principal, Robert Dodd, confirmed that the email received by the staff members was from an anonymous user.

Robert sent an email to the personnel in which it was written that whoever sent the email was from outside of the Montgomery County Public Schools network. 

In an interview with Bethesda Beat, Robert confirmed that the school’s staff members received an antisemitic email.

He added that the Montgomery County Police Department is currently performing an investigation to find the sender. 

According to Montgomery County police, they didn’t immediately respond to the request for comment related to the email.

The police are also investigating the graffiti which they found on Saturday. 

Principal Robert said that he, alongside his school, will participate in assisting the police in the investigation.

He shared a statement related to graffiti, “I have complete faith in the police department that they will exhaustively investigate this. It will not be tolerated.”

Jessica Baxter, MCPS Communications Director said that the email is being investigated by the police.

Jessica added that nothing more can be added as “we are limited in what we can say.”
