The tragedy took place at the Cuscatlan Stadium, where fans were trapped in a human avalanche that caused absolute chaos.

What caused the Alianza vs FAS stadium tragedy?
The president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, will meet this Sunday with the security forces and his entire government team to analyse what happened.
At least initially, there are two main focuses of the government's investigation into the crush.
According to local authorities, they are investigation the role of electronic ticketing and the restricted access to the Cuscatlan Stadium, especially at the south end.
"Those responsible for the deaths will have to answer for their actions," stated minister Juan Carlos Bidegain.
"It is unacceptable that the people in charge, of issues such as ticket sales, did not have full control."
In the coming hours, more details will be revealed in an attempt to clarify what happened and to hold those responsible to account for what is an unprecedented tragedy in the country.
