Damar Hamlin, a safety for the Buffalo Bills, received a lot of attention worldwide after being injured during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night.

Damar Hamlin, a 24-year-old football star, is currently single and has never been married or engaged. There are no reports or indications that he has any children from a past relationship, which he has kept private.

Mario and Nina Hamlin welcomed Damar Hamlin into the world on February 24, 1998, and raised him in the McKees Rocks neighborhood of Pennsylvania. 

The area was known for being dangerous due to drug and weapon activity, and Damar’s father, Mario, turned to selling drugs to help support the family financially. 

However, Mario was eventually arrested and sentenced to 3.5 years in prison when Damar was a young boy. Damar’s mother, Nina, ran a daycare and also co-founded an office cleaning company with Mario. 

To help support the family, Damar would attend school in the morning, play football in the afternoon, and then help his mother with the daycare and cleaning offices after lunch.

Despite these challenges, Damar was eventually drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft and signed a four-year rookie contract on May 21, 2021.

Damar’s mother, Nina, is reported to have been his greatest supporter throughout his journey to the NFL.

“My family and I are close. In a 2021 interview, Hamlin said, “I try to think of when I was sixteen years old, and I just couldn’t imagine having a young boy. My mom was sixteen when she had me.

“It was probably so stressful, but both of my parents had me when I was young, at sixteen, and they pretty much invested all they had into me from that point to bring me to where we are right now today,” my mother said.

Hamlin gave his parents a lot of credit for his achievement.
